Winter Bucket List

Winter can provide a lot of fun experiences for families to enjoy together! Creating memories together throughout the year is important, and sometimes it can be hard to come up with things to do during the cold, gray months so I have rounded up the perfect activities for a family winter bucket list!

  • SNOW DAY: Plan a day to spend doing several activities in the snow! We love sledding, building a snowman, and even just running around in the snow can be a blast! It is a great way to stay active (for both kids & adults) in the winter. Plus, the snow can be so magical!

  • WINTER SENSORY BIN: Either make your own sensory bin, or buy a pre-made one for the kids to get busy with! It is fun for them while also being a great way to develop fine motor skills, and foster imaginative play! Here is a link to the sensory bin we love!

  • BAKE A TREAT FOR NEIGHBORS: Baking together can be so fun and a great learning opportunity for kids. And what is even better is when we can prepare plates to deliver to our friends and neighbors to help the kids learn the importance of serving others!

  • STAYCATION: Book a weekend staycation in a nearby town to change up the scenery! It doesn’t have to be extravagant, and can include simply swimming indoors at the hotel and getting room service!

  • BUILD A FORT: Sometimes winter can leave you feeling stuck inside like you have been staring at the wall! So an easy, kid-approved way to have fun and change the scenery is by building a fort together! We love using our modular cushion set to make a fort, and it can be fun to drape it with blankets and fill it with books to read and snacks to munch on!

  • MOVIE MARATHON: Cozy up on the couch with fuzzy blankets and watch a few movies with some of your favorite snacks! Here is a link to our favorite blanket brand!

  • ICE SKATING: Ice skating can be a fun new activity to try as a family, young kids can even try too because most rinks have ice skating aids to help with balance! We love these skates for kids and these ones for adults!

  • PAPER SNOWFLAKES: Doing winter crafts is a great way to spend time during the cold months. A long-beloved tradition is making paper snowflakes!

  • WINTER PHOTOSHOOT: It is so important to capture memories in photo form so we don’t forget each stage of our children’s lives, so why not make it fun and put together a winter-themed photoshoot for the kids! Get a cute backdrop and some props and start taking pictures, no need for a fancy camera!

It can be fun to put all of your bucket list items on a large poster for the whole family to see, and it’s exciting to check them off together as you do them! Bucket lists are a great way to build lasting memories and foster a sense of accomplishment and tradition. HERE is a list of more products I recommend to help you achieve the items on your bucket list this winter season!
